Thanks to Netgalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
Children’s Book Group for giving me this book to review.
Ever the Hunted is an enjoyable YA fantasy book which is
fast paced and full of action, romance and magic. However, it is nothing new in
this genre and is a bit predictable.
Britta is skilled, determined and competent but also is
distrustful of people. Cohen is your average YA hero with nothing new as he is
brave, loyal and protective. However, I wish we got to know Lief a bit more as
I really liked him and he was an interesting character.
I was not a fun of the ending and the hinted love triangle
in the next book Ever the Brave. I would recommend Ever the Hunted to fans of
Slumber by Samantha Young and Threats of Sky and Sea by Jennifer Ellision.
